Founder’s Story

Eli & Kai was founded by Marium, an entrepreneur who has successfully run two accounting practices — one in the UAE and one in the UK.

Marium’s brother used to joke that she was always too busy managing her businesses, raising children, and running family life, and that she should simply start journaling, spend her days in coffee shops, and live an easy life. While the coffee shops never appealed, the journaling part was already part of her reality.

For over ten years, Marium had been writing daily lists, schedules, and yearly plans — the very habit that allowed her to build businesses, stay grounded, and design her dream life and that’s where the idea came into play. 

When she moved to Abu Dhabi, she decided to turn this private practice into a business — creating journals that carry both luxury craftsmanship and soulful purpose.

As a devoted Muslim, Marium believes deeply in the power of the pen. She often reflects on the Quranic teaching that God began creation with the pen, writing down all that would unfold. To her, writing is the first step to making things real.

Eli & Kai journals are therefore more than objects. They are tools of faith, discipline, and creativity — designed to help others plan and build the life they desire.
