Every set is made after it is ordered, on the bench in our Abu Dhabi studio.

The leather. Full-grain, vegetable-tanned, sourced from a tannery here in Abu Dhabi. Tanned with natural tannins rather than chromium salts, which is why it carries no chemical smell and why it will darken and soften rather than crack or peel.

The making. Marked and cut by hand from the hide. Edges bevelled and burnished by hand. Brass grommets set individually, one at a time, so the cords carry the weight of a full six inserts and a run of charms without tearing the leather. Roughly forty minutes of hand-work before it becomes a cover.

The personalisation. Initials pressed by hand with a heated brass plate — gold foil, or blind deboss with no colour at all. Up to twelve characters including spaces, Arabic or English. Because it is pressed rather than printed, it will not peel, fade, or wash away.

The system. A refillable cover with elastic cords down the spine. Each cord carries an insert, so a diary, a planner, and a sketchbook live inside one object. Capacity is six. When the pages run out, you replace the pages, not the journal.

The paper. Fountain pen friendly. No bleed, no ghosting, no feathering — both sides of every page usable. Lined, dotted, plain, and blank.

The hardware. Brass grommets, gold-tone charms and clip, and cords in your chosen colour.

Vegetable-tanned leather is a natural material. Grain, tone, and marking vary between hides, and no two covers are identical. That is the material behaving correctly, not a fault.

Every set is made to order. Nothing is cut before it is bought.
